Let’s first take a look at what we see others do to gain unwittingly a mocking false sense of social, public personal, business or political status.
Upmanship n. The practice of scoring an advantage in social or political status.
One-upmanship n. is a program or technique of coming out ahead in personal relationships by placing an envied antagonist at a psychological disadvantage, coined by Stephen Potter.
Smear Campaign: It would appear that a smear campaign is a strategy used to gain psychological, political or military advantage in the loathsome game of one-upmanship. To spar against an antagonist by using media coverage that is intended to surface seemingly by error or mistake, at a crucial time, to influence the public against an issue, situation, election, or event that would likely have been defeated, and other wise would not have unwittingly, passed public scrutiny, because of the opportunistic, timing of the distraction, the very purpose of that strategy. Usually this deceptive tool is designed to appear as an error that is blamed on a predetermined and otherwise insignificant fall-guy, to hide the real benefactor of this tactic.
It is public ignorance, or prejudice, (that is more willing to believe in the negative nature of others than in their virtues simple because we judge other by what we are not and because we have become so cynical because of all the lies, carelessness and lose values that are considered politically correct) this seems to be a factor at work here. Fear tactics makes its impact here, because we tend more to react, than to reason when we do not have the facts. Therefore we oppose what we would more than likely have supported, had we really known the truth. Is this not a treasonous act against public opinion and interests, by individuals who pretend to act in the public interest? Should this not then nullify or make void any, supporting decisions gained due to the opportunistic fraudulent campaigning that amounts to public extortion.
Actually, this is accomplished because of the nature of the public. A public that predominantly, would believe the negative about others, do it because of their own, deceptive and corrupt nature. This is why corruption within will bring down any group because of internal strife and division, due to their very own corrupt nature and lack of virtue and integrity. It would appear that Adolfo Hitler may have had this in mine when he claimed that, “The masses will more easily fall prey to a big lie than a small one.” --Mein Kampf
Can we look at our selves, then for a moment? Is this true? Are we not more willing to condemn those whose status appears to be above or a threat to ours? Here again we fall back to one-upmanship. Nobody wants to be humiliated or be found lacking in status in their society, right? What this amounts to is that we have fallen prey to undesirable standards and measures of our own value and status. Status is not measured by what others are, nor is it by what they are not. This is the first lie we believe about status. This lie is used to destroy someone who lives by good moral values, because of our ignorance, selfishness, insecurity, vanity and false pride that is primed by what others think of us, rather than by what we think or respect in ourselves. Insecurity, inferiority, and self-doubts are the pump that primes these false measures of self-worth.
Please be assured that each one of us, every individual, is of infinite value, priceless above measure and with infinite capabilities that if born in humility, respect and honor toward others and for the purpose of serving others as we would serve ourselves verifies and confirms this this self-evident truth.
A person of high integrity does not worry about status, as they enjoy the highest status in the good company of themselves.
The Sincere Man
by -- Alfred Grant Walton
What gifts of speech a man my own,
What grace of manners may appear,
Have little worth unless his heart
Be honest, forthright and sincere.
The sincere man is like a rock,
As true as time; with honest eye
He looks you squarely in the face
Nor turns aside to make reply.
Nothing is hidden; there is no sham,
No camouflage to caution care,
No ifs or buts to haunt the mind,
Or secret doubts to linger there.
A crystal candor marks his speech,
With conscience clear he goes his way
He does the thing he thinks is right
Nor cares a whit what others say.
Give me a man that is sincere,
And though a wealth of faults attend,
I shall clasp his hand in mine
And claim him as a trusted friend!
Now you know how to win at last the winning cup that non but you may touch, and that you shall never lose as long as you live up to the best there is in you, as you rise modestly and humbly to higher levels of performance and capability as your life grows richer in all that you would ever need, that blesses you as long as and while you are blessing others in everything that you do.
Remember, he who created all things made all things, and said it was good. God created all the details that some devil worshipers proudly claim to be the virtuous endowment of that fallen deceptive spirit, who grovels in the dark, hoping to hide the details of the truth that would expose his corruption. He is the author of one-upmanship and vanity, prompting us to doubt all things that limit our freedom in fear of the truth. Blinding us to the truth, because we are living in the shadows of half truths, if ands’ buts’ and maybes.
Come out of that darkness! Live in the sublime light of the truth, so that our weaknesses are discovered first by ourselves, rather that to be seen by the unscrupulous neighbor. Then, and then only would we be free form fear, doubt and despair, because we live in the sublime light of truth that makes us free from the groveling, base attitudes that foster every corrupt thing.
A good place to start is to ponder and read over the Beatitudes, the model and pattern that truly is what perfection is about, and not some vain pious attitude that we are above others, but the master of ourselves before we may bless the lives of others who have not found this freedom, that is no stranger to those who love the truth. The truth is that only our creator, God the Eternal Father of light created everything in all their details, through his one and only begotten son, who gave his life as he lived his life, to restore our lives through the atonement. That, He loves us so much that He willingly gave His life to overcome all corrupt things for our salvation, blessing and freedom. If we understand correctly, freedom, joy and happiness are the fruit of using our free agency and power to choose freedom or bondage, equality or inequality, to love truth or a lie, knowing as by the light of truth, or by the noon day sun, that
“Reap we do just what we sow.”
There is no other law greater.
So, may it be as it is in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
