Spirituality and Politics or a Paradox?

The rap or reputation, the meaning or significance we are conditioned to understand from experience will effect and influence the principles and values we cherish, the disposition of our heart, and the thoughts in our mind. These then are the composer and director behind the scenes of all our behaviors.

Socrates claimed, “There is one good and one evil--that good is truth, and that evil is ignorance.” If this is the case, then there is no greater wisdom than to know and to know what you know is true and no greater vice than to know not, and not know you know not the truth.

These facts could never be more important than in our daily communications. Failing to understand this, we put our own relationships with others at risk for lack of understanding.

(Proverbs 4:5 - 7)
5 Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
6 Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.
7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
Great words, exceptional wisdom, and a grand understanding, as recorded by Solomon, the teachings of his Father, King David.

A good friend, Mr. Pollock said, “Accurate, honest communications are the saviors of civilizations.” It cannot be emphasized more emphatically. It could not be more clear at least in my own mind and according to my understanding, that chaos would rule were it not for honest, accurate and sincere discourse. So, how is it that we are bombarded with unfit, inaccurate, corrupt and vile media productions? It is the money, the fame, the vanity, pride and greed for the corrupt things of this world.

Is it any wonder that things are falling apart? Can we understand now why the death penalty applied to those who broke the laws that preserved the foundation and sound structure of a developing society; superior more disciplined, yes, even a holy people, righteousness esteemed more than life.

Can we see now how compromising these virtues lead us slowly to abandon the very foundation planted by inspired godly people?

When our politicians are persons of wholesome character, honest, accurate, articulate and vigilante in doing good to all people, we can be sure that spirituality plays an important role in their life. Spirituality is to the politician, what the politician is to the people. It will influence us for good or the lack of it will influence us for evil. And a politician who will say as I have read, “Evil will accomplish good.” we can be sure that politician is steeped in vice, and will leave us in ruin.

Spiritualized politics will lead to a more spiritual and loving industrious and vigilant people.

Now you may ask, what about separation of church and state? That statement to my understanding is a misstatement. The constitution separates the power or duty of government, and the power or duty of the church and people to prevent the very thing that the extreme fanatical left as well as the extreme fanatical right would take from us-- the freedom of choice because they believe in big government and high taxes laws that destroy our free-agency. There may be exceptions, but what I have leaned that as a republic the federal government and states have limited powers to that of the commonwealth, while the churches exercise power or influence over the moral and ethical teachings or values that aught to govern our lives.

Government Politics then are to have influence over the material and economic resources or commonwealth of state and nation.

The Church then exercises influence over the morals and ethical values that protect the freedom of individuals to be led according to conscience and the correct understanding of truth.

Politics and government then administer the commonwealth

The church and people and politicians then organize under the influence of correct principles, the right of free-will, in accordance to moral values we all cherish and value; honesty, integrity, service, and good will, the conditions that build strong character, unity and harmonious noble relationships and discourse. The people of good and strong character are the only one’s who will protect and preserve a strong virtuous wholesome society.

Spirituality and Politics are not the equivalent of a paradox. The purpose of both are similar. I could not have imagined this before today, and before I was prompted to write these lines. If we love the truth, then the spirit of truth will dwell in us, like an everlasting fountain it comforts, councils, corrects, inspires and guides us in all the we do. It helps us to understand, yet we are free to choose to win or lose.

The rap or reputation, the meaning or significance we are conditioned to understand from experience will effect and influence the principles and values we cherish, the disposition of our heart, and the thoughts in our mind. These then are the composer and director behind the scenes of all our behaviors.

With the help of spiritualized politics, the lovers of virtue and truth are guided spiritually from a good conscience, and are given dominion, power and the charge to serve all people.
